Bubble Tip Anemones are extremely popular in the aquarium hobby and are often what attracts people to the hobby in general. The way they move around in the water flow can be mesmerizing, especially when clownfish are hosting them.
They can be challenging at times to keep and seem to prefer "dirty" water with higher levels of waste in the tank. They like moderate to high light and moderate to strong flow and are normally found in the middle to upper part of the aquarium. Of course, you should always maintain proper water parameters by maintaining good calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity levels.
They do have the ability to move or "walk" around the tank to find their preferred place and any other sessile inverts and/or corals in their path are at risk. It is recommended to move or relocate those items immediately or they may get stung, recede, and potentially die.
Most species of clownfish have been known to host Bubble Tip Anemones and it is rumored that the anemone is less likely to move around the aquarium if clownfish are hosting it.
