Pavona corals are fairly easy to keep SPS corals that are available in several different colorations. They also can either encrust, plate, or branch, making them rather unique. Some other common names include, Cactus Coral, or Potato Chip Coral.
They like moderate to high lighting and flow and are typically found in the middle of the tank. Be cautious when placing Pavona corals though, they can grow fast and some species can send out long sweeper tentacles that may sting other nearby corals. Of course, you should always maintain proper water parameters by maintaining good calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity levels.
Although Pavona corals are mainly photosynthetic, relying on the products of their zooxanthellae, they should also be fed phytoplankton and zooplankton, as well as other products like Coral Feast and Reef Energy or other amino acids and probiotics.
