Description: Their coloration and personality easily makes them the centerpiece of the tank. They are members of the Tang family (Zebrasoma),and they are one of the larger tangs and require a good size system. Although they can be kept with other tangs, they will establish territory with other fish and are a bit bossy. They eat prepared frozen foods, and seaweed and algae off of the live rock in the tank.The Purple Tang is blue to purple in color with a yellow tail and yellow accents on the pectoral fins. They were formerly known to be only in the coral reefs of the Red Sea, in which they sometimes are seen to school, but it are now found in the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden and in the waters off Sri Lanka as well.
