Acropora species are very difficult to keep in captivity. They require clean water, lots of light, a very stable/mature environment, lots of water flow, and require regular additions of calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity supplements to thrive.
It is commonly recommended to have your aquarium set up for a year or so before adding Acros to your tank. They should be placed in the upper part of the aquarium where they will receive ample light and flow.
Although they grow mainly on photosynthesis, they love broadcast feedings of phytoplankton and zooplankton, and will benefit from supplemental feedings of products like Coral Feast and Reef Energy or other amino acids and probiotics.
