Blastomussa Wellsi, more commonly referred to as Blasto, is a fairly easy to keep LPS coral that requires low to moderate lighting and flow and should be placed in the lower 1/3 of the aquarium. Of course, you should always maintain proper water parameters by maintaining good calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity levels.
A Blastomussa Wellsi colony is a small group of corallites that each have its own fleshy polyp. They are somewhat rare in the oceans and are usually found in the colors of red, blue, purple, and green, although, there are some very unique rainbow patterns that are available in the aquarium hobby today.
Blasto are mainly photosynthetic, relying on the products of their zooxanthellae, but they should also be fed phytoplankton and zooplankton as well as other products like Coral Feast and Reef Energy, and LPS pellets.
