All frags are propagated from this pictured coral. Toadstool corals are one of the most popular soft corals by far, and as its name suggests, forms a large mushroom shape and emits long polyps with 8 tentacles on each.

Toadstool corals are one of the most popular soft corals by far, and as its name suggests, forms a large mushroom shape and emits long polyps with 8 tentacles on each. They like low to moderate light and moderate to high flow.
These corals are generally placed somewhere in the middle of the tank, but, caution should be used when placing due to the fact that they grow so large and anything beneath them will receive very little light.
There are a few different varities available and one of our favorites is the Wheeping Willow. It is found off the coast of Japan and contains super long polyps that blow around in the current, giving it mesmerizing appearance. Clownfish have even been known to host this coral!
Toadstools are mainly photosynthetic, relying on the products of their zooxanthellae, but, you can feed them phytoplankton, zooplankton, as well as other products like Coral Feast and Reef Energy or other amino acids and probiotics if you desire.
Of course, you should always maintain proper water parameters by maintaining good calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity levels.
