Duncanopsammia axifuga, aslo known as whisker corals, or, more commonly referred to as Duncans, are a very easy to keep coral that should be kept in low to moderate light and receive moderate water flow. Of course, you should always maintain proper water parameters by maintaining good calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity levels.
They should be placed in the middle to lower half of the tank and be given some space from other corals. They grow tubular fingers or branches and have large central disc shaped polyps protruding out. Depending on environmental conditions, colonies can look very ball-like.
Although Duncans are mainly photosynthetic, relying on the products of their zooxanthellae, they should also be fed phytoplankton and zooplankton, mysis shrimp, as well as other products like Coral Feast, Reef Energy, and LPS pellets.
