Stylophora, also known as the Cats Paw coral, is another easy to keep SPS coral that is often one of hobbyists first few SPS corals. It prefers moderate to high light and water flow and is typically placed in the upper half of the tank. Of course, you should always maintain proper water parameters by maintaining good calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity levels.
It has a very similar growth pattern to Birdsnest, but grows thicker branches and doesn't have dangerously sharp tips, and usually has extended polyps that are "fluffy" giving it an appearance closer to Pocillopora.
It is found in a few different color variations, predominantly being green, pink, purple, and blue. Although Stylophora corals are mainly photosynthetic, relying on the products of their zooxanthellae, they should also be fed phytoplankton and zooplankton, as well as other products like Coral Feast and Reef Energy or other amino acids and probiotics.
