Nephthea corals, sometimes be referred to as Tree Corals, are very similar and hard to distinguish from Sinularia corals. They were at one point almost extinct, but with the success in aquaculturing and propogating these corals, they are now a staple in the reefing hobby.
It is an extremely easy coral to care for, requiring low to moderate light and moderate to strong flow. These corals are generally placed somewhere in the middle of the tank but caution should be used when placing due to the fact that they grow so large and anything beneath them will receive very little light.
One of our favorites is the Neon Green Nephthea Leather because it contains a lot of fluorescence, and really "glows" in the aquarium.
Sinularia corals are mainly photosynthetic, relying on the products of their zooxanthellae, but, you can feed them phytoplankton and zooplankton, as well as other products like Coral Feast and Reef Energy if you desire.
Of course, you should always maintain proper water parameters by maintaining good calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity levels.
