Pectinia corals, also known as Spiny Cup Corals, have a plate-like growth with sharp spiky spires emerging upwards and away from the base plate. They are relatively easy to keep and require low to moderate light and flow. Of course, you should always maintain proper water parameters by maintaining good calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity levels.
Be cautious when placing in your aquarium, for some species of pectinia can send out sweeper tentacles at night and sting neighboring corals. Try to keep them down lower and give them some space away from other corals.
Pectinias are a great addition to any reef tank, providing a very cool and unique growth pattern and aesthetic. They are mainly photosynthetic, but do enjoy regular feedings of Phytoplankton and Zooplankton, LPS pellets, and even chunkier items like mysis shrimp.
